In the fallout of the Johnny Kitagawa sexual abuse scandal, Kirin was one of the companies that famously withdrew its contracts from the company then known as Johnny & Associates. Kirin has now gone back to business as usual, by casting Ren Meguro of Snow Man in its newest beer CM.
Starting March 18, he, alongside Uchimura Teruyoshi, Amami Yuki, and Imada Mio, will star in the “Shin Beer Namae wa Naisho” campaign. In the commercial, each of the stars enjoy Kirin’s new beer, set for release on April 2. As the campaign name suggests, the new beer’s name is a secret. Each CM star has a different reaction to the new beer’s name, which they can see.
In Ren’s CM, he’s dying to say the new beer’s name, going as far as saying, “I’ll say it,”, before bursting out in laughter while trying to mouth the name.
