On March 6, Sexy Zone will release their new single, “puzzle.”
This release is momentous for the group for several reasons. This will be Sexy Zone’s last release as Sexy Zone, with their new name to be announced on March 31. This will also be the final release with group member Kento Nakajima, who will graduate from the group that same day. This is also their first release since the name of their label, Top J Records, was changed to “Over The Top.” Both the label name change and the group name change are due to rebranding in light of the Johnny Kitagawa sexual abuse scandal.
“puzzle” serves as the theme song for the new Fuji TV drama “Living-Room Matsunaga-san”, which stars Kento. The song has the theme of recognizing each other’s individuality, similar to pieces of a puzzle, and how like pieces of a puzzle, people come together.
The song was composed by Penthouse frontman Namioka Shintaro. Since he composed Kento’s solo song “ROSSO” last year, their friendship has deepened. As a Penthouse fan, Kento is very happy and excited about “puzzle.”
