Japan Weekend Box Office 10/06 – 10/08. After 4 Weeks ‘Don’t Call it Mystery: The Movie’ Remains Top Box Office Film

Once again the weekend movie box office ranking from October 6 to October 8 saw an unchanged number one with “Don’t Call it Mystery: The Movie” on top for the fourth consecutive week. Over the weekend the film attracted 221,00 moviegoers and grossed a little over 2.08 million USD at the box office. Newly released films in Japan that ranked within the top 10 include “Analog”, “Girls und Panzer Projekt Final Chapter” and “The Equalizer 3.” 

 

In 2nd place “Analog” starring Kazunari Ninomiya was based on a novel written by Takeshi Kitano. In its first three days of release the film was attended by 176,000 moviegoers and grossed 1.69 million USD. Over four days (holiday included) the total came to 245,000 moviegoers and 2.30 million USD. In 3rd place was “The Silent Service” with 135,000 moviegoers and 1.28 million USD at the box office. The cumulative performance is now 630,000 moviegoers and box office revenue of 5.75 million USD.
