On May 22, MNNK Bro., the unit composed of Takashi Murakami and JP THE WAVY, will release their fourth digital single, “SHUTOKO TOKYO.”
“SHUTOKO TOKYO” is a song that fuses the themes Tokyo’s Shutoko Expressway and the classic anime “AKIRA”, a film which which Murakami has held dear since the formation of MNNK Bro. The song, produced by ineedmorebux, expresses the otherworldly realm of a decadent neo-Tokyo.
The music video for the song has also been released. It was created by BRTHR, a New York-based director duo who have also worked on videos for Travis Scott and The Weeknd. The video can be seen below!
MNNK Bro. also appear on the cover of the new issue of the global streetwear magazine COMPLEX.
