“Shogun” Sets Record at 76th Primetime Emmy Awards

Earlier tonight, the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. FX’s drama series “Shogun” was the biggest winner of the night, taking home 18 awards (out of 25 nominations), including “Outstanding Drama Series”, as well as “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series”, for Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai, respectively. Frederick E. O. Toye won “Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series” for the episode “Crimson Sky.”

The show won 14 Emmys at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys, the most for a single season of a show ever. Tonight’s four wins extended that record.
