We are now at the midpoint of 2023, meaning that mid-year charts are here! Oricon has released its charts for the first half of 2023! This chart covers the period from 12/12/22 to 6/11/23.
King & Prince is the best selling artist of the year so far. Their ¥18,410,000,000 in revenue is a record high for the half year Oricon chart. The previous record of ¥10,950,000,000 in revenue was set by Arashi in 2013. King & Prince is the first act since then to cross the ¥10,000,000,000 revenue mark, which only Arashi had previously crossed.
King & Prince also topped the Combined Single chart with their single “Life goes on / We are young” with 1,141,488 points.
They also topped the Combined Album chart with their best album “Mr.5” with 1,376,482 points. King & Prince is the first act to top the Combined Single and Album charts in the first half of the year.
“Life goes on / We are young” also topped the Single chart with 1,084,536 copies sold. This is the first single to cross the million mark in the first half of the year since 2020.

Kessoku Band topped the Digital Album chart with their self-titled debut album with 64,429 copies sold.
Official HIGE DANdism topped the Streaming chart with their digital single “Subtitle” with 255,480,098 streams.
