Junichi Okada to Leave Johnny & Associates

Former V6 member Junichi Okada will leave Johnny & Associates on November 30. This is related to the abuse scandal involving company founder Johnny Kitagawa.

He doesn’t want to cause any trouble or worry his fans and related parties, saying, “More than anything else, I don’t want to lose my core of focusing solely on creating.” With this in mind, he decided to leave the company.

Johnny & Associates respects Junichi’s decision, saying in a statement, “We want the actor Junichi Okada to be cherished. We will continue to support his activities.” The statement also mentioned that in his post-V6 time as an actor, he did things for his juniors at the company and offered suggestions as to how to improve the company. Johnny & Associates is grateful for this.

Regarding his future, Junichi wrote that he is starting his own company. At his new company, he wants to follow his beliefs of being quiet, strong, gentle, and soft, to create works that people will want to spend a good time with.

Junichi joined Johnny & Associates at the age of 14 in 1995. He debuted in V6 in the same year, continuing with the group until its disbandment in 2021. He is the last remaining member of V6’s subunit Coming Century at the company, following the 2021 departure of Go Morita and the 2023 departure of Ken Miyake.
