On May 14, Hoshino Gen will release her new album, “Gen.” This is his first album since December 2018’s “POP VIRUS.”
The album features collaborations with Louis Cole, Sam Gendel, Sam Wilkes, Camilo, Cordae, Lee Youngji, UMI, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
“Gen” will come in three editions: CD+Book “Box Set ‘Poetry'”, CD+2Blu-ray / CD+3DVD “Box Set ‘Visual'”, and a CD only regular edition. “Box Set ‘Poetry'” contains the hardcover book “Mad Hope”, which features photos mixed with Gen’s own poetry and pose. The box also contains three posters and liner notes. The video discs that come with “Box Set ‘Visual'” contains four hours and 47 minutes of footage. This footage includes the concert “Gen Hoshino presents Reassembly LIVE”, which was held on January 28, 2003 at Yokohama Arena to mark Gen’s 42nd birthday, as well as his return to the stage after nearly three years. The box also contains an album booklet and a poster.
Ahead of the album’s release, Gen has released the music video for the song “Star”, which serves as the CM song for Asahi’s beverage WONDA, a CM which Gen currently stars in. Check it out below, along with more information on his new album!
