Seiko Matsuda Celebrates 45th Anniversary of Her Debut with New Song

On April 1, 1980, Seiko Matsuda debuted with the single “Hadashi no Kisetsu.” To mark the 45th anniversary of her debut, she will release a new digital single, “Shapes of Happiness”, on the same date.

The song was written and produced by Makihara Noriyuki, and has the message of everyone finding their own individual happiness and the world becoming one in which that happiness accepted. Noriyuki created the song with Seiko’s voice in mind, saying that its bright, energetic nature would spread the song’s similar energy to listeners. Seiko expressed her love for the song, saying that it gives her the courage, hope, and energy to face tomorrow.

“Shapes of Happiness” will be included on Seiko’s upcoming 45th anniversary best album, “Eien no Idol, Eien no Seishun, Matsuda Seiko. ~45th Anniversary Kyukyoku All Time Best~”, out June 4.

The music video for the song has also been released. Produced by Seiko herself, the video has the concept of “new psyche.” Check it out below!
