Former Johnny’s Jr. KAUAN OKAMOTO has been a hot topic recently, and he’s now ready to show the world his talent! On May 24, he released the digital single “The First.”
“The First” was composed by KAUAN, SHuN-BOX a.k.a. 2FACE BOX, and Renato Iwai. The song’s lyrics express feelings that he could not understood until now, ones that he couldn’t put into words, but also feelings of gratitude to his parents and supporters.
The music video for the song was recently released. At the end of the song, he says in Portuguese “O amor é tudo. Agora é o verdadeiro começo”, meaning “Love is everything. The new beginning starts from here”, a nod to his Japanese-Brazilian roots. After that he says, “I was born on May 24, 1996. And I have been reborn on May 24, 2023.” The video then goes to a spoken word section where he makes allusions to his alleged sexual abuse at the hands of Johnny Kitagawa. He says this while appearing in the tuxedo he wore to the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan press conference where he spoke about this topic.
