JO1’s Shion Tsurubo Suspends Activities Again

As previously reported, on May 31, Shion Tsurubo of JO1 was suspended from the group for ten days due to him illegally gambling online.

Earlier this week, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department referred him to prosecutors on these allegations, saying that they are in favor of “strict punishment”, ideally an indictment.

In light of this LAPONE Entertainment has announced that Shion has decided to suspend his activities a second time. The company said, “He has taken various opinions seriously, and in the apology video that was released the other day, showed his strong determination to ‘fulfill his responsibilities.’ We take his wishes seriously, and after much discussion, we have decided that as part of that responsibility, Shion Tsurubo will suspend his activities for the time being.”

Regarding his current state, LAPONE said, “He has taken the many criticisms of him seriously, but the mental impact is also something that cannot be ignored. We would appreciate your consideration.”
