Japan Weekend Box Office 11/10 – 11/12. ‘Godzilla Minus One’ spends second week at no. 1 at the box office

For the second consecutive week, “Godzilla Minus One” stomped the competition at the box office keeping its first place spot for the days of November 10 to November 12. Over the weekend “Godzilla Minus One” attracted 356,000 moviegoers and grossed a box office revenue of 560 million yen (3.6 million USD). The cumulative results are now at 1.35 million moviegoers and over 2.1 billion yen (13.8 million USD) in box office revenue. Many new films were released in Japan over the weekend including the Hollywood film “The Marvels” which debuted in 2nd place. New domestic films include “Houtei Yugi” (or “Court Game”) starring King & Prince’s Ren Nagase which debuted in third place with an audience of 120,000 moviegoers and box office revenue of 169 million yen (1.1 million USD). “(Ab)normal Desire” (also known as “Seigo”) co-starring Goro Inagaki and Yui Aragaki debuted in 5th place. The film recently won the awards for both Best Director and Audience Award at the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival. “Gintama on Theater 2D: Baragaki-hen” debuted in 9th place, while “Komada: A Whisky Family” debuted in 10th place.
