Japan Weekend Box Office 09/29 – 10/01. ‘Don’t Call it Mystery: The Movie’ keeps momentum with 3 consecutive weeks in 1st place while ‘The Silent Service’ debuts at No. 2

The weekend movie box office ranking from September 29 to October 1 saw an unchanged number one “Don’t Call it Mystery: The Movie” take first place with 305,000 moviegoers and grossed 394 million yen at the box office. The cumulative performance has now reached 2,055,000 moviegoers and box office revenue of 2,776 million yen. Newly released films in Japan that ranked within the top 10 include “Bad Lands”, “The SIlent Service” and “I Want to Return to 20 Years Old” 

 

In second place was live action film “The Silent Service” based on the manga series written and illustrated by Kaiji Kawaguchi. In its first weekend it attracted 274,000 moviegoers and grossed 370 million yen at the box office.
