Japan Weekend Box Office 03/08 – 03/10: ‘Haikyuu!! Battle of The Garbage Dump’ smashes its way back to the No. 1 spot

The weekend box office data for the days of March 8 to March 10 saw “Haikyuu!! Battle of The Garbage Dump” back in the number one spot. Now in its 4th week since release, the film welcomed 574,000 moviegoers and box office revenue of 843 million yen over the weekend. The cumulative results are now at 4.38 million moviegoers and 6.2 billion yen at the box office. Other newly released films that debuted within the top 10 include “My Home Hero” in 3rd place, “Kamen Rider Geats: Jyamato Awakening” in 7th place, and “Shimajiro The Movie: Carnation of Miracle Island” in 8th place.

Last week’s number one, “Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony” was bumped down to second but still managed to show impressive results of 409,000 moviegoers and 502 million yen at the box office, bringing its cumulative total to 1.04 million moviegoers and over 1.2 billion yen. In 4th place is “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom” in its seventh week of release with a cumulative result of 2.3 million moviegoers and 3.88 billion yen at the box office.
