Former Nogizaka46 Member Ikuta Erika To Be Main Star For Japanese Version of Wish

Former Nogizaka46 member and music virtuoso Ikuta Erika is to be the Japanese voice actress for Asha in the upcoming Disney movie Wish!

From the Disney website:

In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.

Having gone through the grueling audition process through Disney main headquarters in the US, Ikuta mentions being so shocked that it took her a full moment to truly realize that she had been accepted. As this movie is being made on the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, the pressure is certainly higher than ever but given her abilities and talent the former idol is sure to shine!

The movie will open on December 15th in Japan.
