Today, Apple Music released its year end charts for 2023 covering the period from 11/1/22 – 10/31/23.
Official HIGE DANdism‘s “Subtitle” topped the 2023 Top Song 100: Japan chart. It was followed by YOASOBI‘s “Idol” and Vaundy‘s “Kaiju no Hana Uta.”
Apple Music’s year end charts also showed the impact of Japanese music on the global stage this year. On the 2023 Top Song 100: Global chart, several Japanese songs were included. “Idol” placed seventh, “Subtitle” tenth, Yonezu Kenshi‘s “KICK BACK” 33rd, and “Kaiju no Hana Uta” 40th.
On the 2023 Top Song 100: Sing chart, which compiles data from Apple Music’s singalong Sing feature, several Japanese acts were also included. “Idol” placed first, “Kaiju no Hana Uta” ninth, “Subtitle” 13th, Yuuri‘s “Dry Flower” 20th, Saucy Dog‘s “Cinderella Boy” 38th, Ado‘s “Shin Jidai (Uta from ONE PIECE FILM RED)” 51st, YOASOBI’s “Yoru ni Kakeru” 55th, Aimyon’s “Marigold” 61st, Utada Hikaru‘s “First Love (Remastered 2014)” 64th, back number‘s “Suiheisen” 68th, Official HIGE DANdism’s “Mixed Nuts” 74th, Shiina Ringo‘s “Marunouchi Sadistic” 81st, Yuuri’s “Betelgeuse” 91st, Mrs. GREEN APPLE‘s “Tenbyou no Uta” 92nd, Utada’s “First Love (2022 Mix)” 97th, and Tani Yuuki‘s “W / X / Y” 99th.
