XG’s newest single, ‘TGIF,’ was released on Friday, August 4. An acronym for ‘Thank God I’m Fly,’ the singers surprised fans with a bold music video with an energetic and powerful sound. The lyrics reflect the idea of loving herself and bringing heavy bass beats and a unique percussion dynamism to the chorus, which characterizes the young women’s musical DNA: attractive, sophisticated, and extravagant.
The hypnotic music video has visual effects in 3D and CGI, and extraordinary choreography and outfits reinforce XG’s evolution since the release of ‘GRL GVNG”. The group shows that it came to revolutionize world pop with a cinematographic visual and choreography with unique and unforgettable movements. ‘TGIF’ evokes XG’s wish to “evolve to love ourselves as unique beings, regardless of the reason.” The song is part of the long-awaited first mini-album of the group, ‘NEW DNA,’ that will be released on September 27.
The group’s schedule is still busy: fans can watch the performances of the latest releases at the Head In The Clouds Music & Arts Festival in Los Angeles on August 5 and 6. The septet will also perform at the KCON LA at the end of the month and return to Japan for the “TGC 2023 A/W” for a single performance on September 2 at Saitama Super Star Arena. In the same month, the group will perform at the “88 DEGREES & RISING IN JAKARTA” on the nine and at the “F1 Singapore Fest” on the 15. The group continues its world tour with performances in substantial national and international festivals and, on November 11, will share the stage with other stars at “Hyperound” in Abu Dhabi.
