Upcoming horror film “The Forbidden Play” is based on the horror-suspense novel of the same name by Karma Shimizu. The film will star Hashimoto Kanna as Kurosawa Hiroko and Johnny’s West’s Shigeoka Daiki as Ihara Naoto. Nakata Hideo who is known for works such as “Ring”, “Stolen Identity”, and “Stigmatized Properties” has been recruited as the director.
In the newly released promotional video, Shigeoka’s character can be seen teaching his son a spell to bring back loved ones from the dead.
“The Forbidden Play” will be released in Japan on September 8th, 2023.
