Cover corp, the talent management agency that oversees both hololive and Holostars, has initiated legal action against a group of matome sites.
Matome sites are aggregators that post up threads from 5channel and other BBS sites on various topics, and frequently also host comment sections in which people can post things anonymously on said topics. Frequently, people will post harassment or death threats on such sites anonymously. On February 1st, Cover announced that not only had they taken action on 146 cases of harassment and threats posted on such platforms, but also had taken further action on three of those 146 which have resulted in legal action against the offenders.
In addition, the company is currently negotiating legal settlements with said aggregator websites over posts containing deliberate slander and defamation against their talents.
