On August 1, Obukuro Nariaki and 5lack released the joint album “Itchora.”
This marked the duo’s first collaboration since the song “Gaia”, which was included on Nariaki’s 2019 album “Piercing.” In the seven years since, the two artists have deepened their artistic expression and established their own unique aesthetics, with each releasing their own album last year.
The production of “Itchora” began in preparation for their August 1 two man live show, “Gaia.” Initially, they envisioned a short EP, but the ideas they each brought to the table naturally expanded, resulting in an eight track album. The album reflects the duo’s musical backgrounds, touching on 90s hip hop and 00s R&B.
Now, nearly two months after release, Nariaki and 5lack have released the music video for the album’s title track. Check it out below!
