Today, December 6, is the 20th birthday of COCONA from XG. COCONA took this moment to make an announcement regarding their gender. They have come out as AFAB Transmasculine Non-binary.
In the announcement, COCONA said that they have had this feeling in their heart for a long time. They also revealed that they had top surgery, the removal of the breasts, earlier this year. In the photos that accompanied the announcement, their surgery scars are visible.
COCONA said that even though they were assigned female at birth, they feel as if that label never applied to them. They are now living in a more masculine way, a way that feels more true to them. COCONA said that accepting themself for who they truly are was the hardest thing they ever had to do, but doing so opened a new door and completely changed their vision of the world, giving them a new sense of courage.
