The 47th Japan Academy Awards ceremony was held on March 8, 2024 at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. The biggest winner of the night was “Godzilla Minus One” which won 8 of the 12 major awards it was nominated for including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Actress in a Supporting Role. Actress in a Supporting Role winner Sakura Ando pulled off an impressive double win by also taking home the Actress in a Leading Role victory for her role in “Monster” directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda.
