It’s been nearly a year since their first mini album, NEW DNA, and this new release centers around the theme of “awe”—the mix of fear and curiosity when encountering something entirely new.
Through this album, XG aims to inspire a sense of wonder and offer listeners a special experience to accompany them in everyday life.
AWE includes eight tracks, including the pre-released songs SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT and IYKYK and the remix track WOKE UP REMIXX, which features artists like Jay Park, OZworld, AKLO, Paloalto, VERBAL, and Awich.
The lead track, HOWLING, combines upright bass with intense synth sounds, capturing XG’s unique blend of charisma and sophistication. The members’ howls, reminiscent of wolves, bring the song’s energy to life, pulling listeners into a raw, immersive experience.
The message, “THAT’S HOW WE HOWL,” conveys unity, resilience and XG’s determination to rise, no matter the challenges ahead.
The newly released HOWLING music video features XG as visitors from space who arrive in a controlled, uniform city. Cracks begin to form as they transform the environment into their natural world, symbolizing their fierce intent to reshape existing structures and make their mark. Like a wolf pack, their unity reinforces their desire to shift the world on their terms.

JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA comprise the seven-member Hip-hop/R&B-inspired girl group XG. Launched in March 2022 with their debut single “Tippy Toes,” XG is a part of the global entertainment production “XGALX,” which promotes a bold culture and nurtures artists with unique worldviews.
In September 2023, they released their 1st mini album, NEW DNA, which topped the Billboard Japan “Hot Albums” chart. In November of the same year, they held their first solo live audience event, the “XG ‘NEW DNA’ SHOWCASE in JAPAN,” at PIA Arena MM.

They made history as the first Japanese artist to rank first on Billboard’s “Hot Trending Songs Powered by Twitter” chart. They became the first Japanese girl group to grace the cover of Billboard magazine, achieving numerous milestones on the international stage.
In 2024, XG is currently on its inaugural world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL.'” The name “XG” stands for “Xtraordinary Girls,” through its unconventional music and performances, XG aims to empower people from various backgrounds worldwide.
