Spotify has released its rankings for the most played Japanese artists and songs overseas in 2022.
YOASOBI tops the artist chart for the second year in a row.
Fujii Kaze‘s “Shinunoga E-Wa” is the most played Japanese song overseas this year. Its virality started on social media in Asia in July of this year. Since then, it has charted in all 74 regions where Spotify has a Viral Chart, topping 23 of those charts. In doing so, Kaze became the first Japanese act to surpass ten million monthly listeners on Spotify.
There was also a ranking of the foreign countries that listened to “Shinunoga E-Wa” the most this year. The United States topped that ranking.
