On December 16, the girl group GPP will debut with the digital single “Bring it Back.” The group was created by the Korean company SM ENTERTAINMENT’s Japanese branch, SM ENTERTAINMENT JAPAN. They are the company’s first girl group, with the members having an average age of 21. The members of GPP come from a variety of backgrounds, including audition program contestants, dancers, actors, and models.
GPP debuts after a year and a half of intense training. Their names stems from “Genkai toppa” and “paper plane”, essentially a paper plane that breaks the limits. The group name expresses their strong determination and challenge to “break common sense and take off into the Japanese music scene and the world, just like a paper airplane that has been tested and creased countless times (through gained experience) and flies powerfully into the distance.”
Also, GPP’s documentary series “GPP Fly ~Gakeppuchi-shi Hikoki no Teikuofu~” is currently airing on Fuji TV as of November 29.
Their debut song “Bring it back” is a fusion of various genres. It is a song full of determination, in line with the group’s ethos. Check out the video for it below!
