On December 31 and January 1, KinKi Kids are holding their concert “KinKi Kids Concert 2024-2025 DOMOTO” at Kyocera Dome Osaka. On December 31, the duo held a livestream as part of STARTO ENTERTAINMENT’s New Year’s Eve series. It was during this concert that they announced their new name: DOMOTO.
Dressed in white hakama, seated at a kotatsu, the duo exchanged banter, such as “I would like to form the unit DOMOTO,”, “We’d like to take on new challenges, but remain fundamentally the same,”, “I want to do things without being too strict,”, and “It’s like our nameplate has changed.”
DOMOTO also announced that they will have a grand opening for their new fan club this coming summer, as well as a new best album.
Registration for the new fan club is now open. The fan club site includes a message from DOMOTO, which states that the name came about in part because it is the family name of both members, who are not related.
