STARTO ENTERTAINMENT has announced that KAT-TUN will disband on March 31. This comes 24 years after their formation and 19 years after their debut.
The group signed a contract with the company last April. Since that time, KAT-TUN has discussed their future with each other and STARTO ahead of the contract entering its second year on April 1 of this year. It was then decided that the group would disband, with Tatsuya Ueda and Yuichi Nakamaru continuing under the company. Kazuya Kamenashi will leave the company on March 31 when the contract expires.
The group is looking for a way to meet their fans before the ceasing of activities, according to STARTO. Details of such event are to be announced.
