Japan Weekend Box Office 04/19 – 04/21: ‘Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram’ is the No.1 film in Japan for 2 consecutive weeks

The box office for the days of April 19 to April 21 saw no changes with the number one film. In its second week since release, “Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram” welcomed 1,327,000 moviegoers over the weekend and box office revenue of 1,921 million yen.The cumulative results are now at 4.47 million moviegoers, and the box office revenue that exceeded 6.5 billion yen. Newly released films that were able to debut within the top 10 include “Blue Lock: Episode Nagi” in 2nd place and “Onmyoji Zero” in 3rd place. 

In 2nd place, “Blue Lock: Episode Nagi” is the first theatrical release of the popular soccer manga that has a cumulative circulation of over 30 million copies, and was able to attract 337,000 moviegoers over the weekend and earned 463 million yen at the box office. The 3rd place “Onmyoji Zero”, starring Kento Yamazaki depicts the secret student days of Seimei Abe, a powerful magician. In the first three days, the film welcomed 187,000 moviegoers and 255 million yen at the box office.
