BMSG has released the results of the investigation into the late night visit of an underage girl to the home of its CEO, SKY-HI.
The company conducted an internal investigation under the direction of multiple experts into where SKY-HI had committed any illegal activity, including violation of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Youth Healthy Development Ordinance, as was pointed out in media reports on the matter. The investigation included interviews with relevant parties and the disclosing of information, and in conclusion found that no illegal activity took place.
BMSG and SKY-HI take responsibility for the inconvenience and worry caused by this incident. He and the company have announced four guidelines to restore trust.
1. A fundamental review of the management structure and strengthening of governance
2. The introduction of an objective auditing function for all executives and employees, including the representative
3. A renewed emphasis on compliance awareness and the establishment of internal controls
4. Restructuring of the management structure
BMSG will introduce a compliance monitoring system helmed by external experts for all executives and employees, including SKY-HI. It will also create a new dedicated department devoted to internal controls. Details on the “restructuring of the management structure” are expected to be announced within the next few months.
In regards to SKY-HI’s artist activities, BMSG has decided that he will focus on establishing a system to prevent recurrence, saying that it is necessary for the company to avoid unnecessary concerns or hindrances to the activities of the company’s others artists by having him, as the company’s representative, appear in the public eye. That being said, SKY-HI will not be appearing live at “COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26” on December 27, nor NTV’s “Happyo! Kotoshi Ichiban Kiita Uta ~Nenkan Music Award 2025~” on December 29. However, with some exceptions, content that had been recorded before today will be released as scheduled.
Regarding other activities, after consulting with relevant parties, BMSG decided that the company’s artists will continue with activities in order to fulfill its current responsibilities.
Regarding this incident, SKY-HI expressed deep remorse, saying, “I worked hard in my own way, with the sole desire to bring the project to fruition. However, my personal sense of time and the way I communicate were, objectively speaking, socially unreasonable, and as a result, I have caused this uproar, and I deeply regret that.” He continued, firmly denying violating the Tokyo Metropolitan Youth Healthy Development Ordinance, saying, “As the investigation report states, I have not violated any laws or ordinances, as some have speculated.” He added that his own lack of awareness that led to the incident, adding, “In order to correct this mismatch with the public and be a trustworthy person, I will devote myself to strengthening governance and reviewing my own attitude.”
