On September 2, Genki Iwashashi will release his new album, “LAzarus.” This album marks Genki’s major label album debut.
The album’s title alludes to the Biblical figure of Lazarus, a man who was risen from the dead. Of the title, Genki said, “Lazarus means that something that has been lost will be revived, that it will be resurrected. In life, there are times when you lose someone important, a dream, or hope, and you feel incredibly sad, depressed, and helpless. But if you don’t give up and keep trying, you can stand up again. What you have lost will come back, or you yourself will be reborn. I have actually had such an experience. That is why I titled this album ‘LAzarus’.”
“LAzarus” is a work that encapsulates everything that Genki has thought through self-reflection and dialogue. The album contains songs that he feels he should sing now, words he wants to convey to his fans, and feelings he wants to express. It also marks the fifth anniversary of his solo debut.
