The poster visual and trailer for new black comedy film “Life of Mariko in Kabukicho” starring Sairi Ito and Yutaka Takenouchi have been released. The release date for theaters has been set for June 30th.
The plot follows Mariko, a woman who runs a small bar in Shinjuku’s Golden Gai and also works as a detective. She has a lover, Masaya, who is a self-proclaimed ninja and one day the FBI requests for them to track down an extraterrestrial that is hiding in Kabukicho. Directed by Eiji Uchida of “Midnight Swan” and Shinzo Katayama of the drama “Gannibal”.
Other cast members include Shohei Uno, Yukiya Kitamura, Yuya Matsuura, and Shiori Kubo. In the trailer the theme song “Highball Boogie” by Da-iCE can also be heard.
