An exciting campaign has been launched to celebrate the highly-anticipated release of Hikaru Utada’s upcoming single “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made” on July 28. In this campaign, 300 lucky winners will have the opportunity to receive an exclusive Original Gold Mirror featuring the cover art of the forthcoming track. Fans from around the world are invited to participate. Additionally, the artist has unveiled the captivating single artwork and their latest artist photo, stoking anticipation for the imminent release.
Fans can participate in the campaign to win an Original Gold Mirror through Apple Music Pre-add, Spotify Pre-save, or iTunes Pre-order (*iTunes Pre-order will start from July 19). The special gold-coloured mirror, adorned with the cover art of “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-,” will be awarded to 300 winners. As a bonus, all applicants can download an exclusive wallpaper featuring Hikaru Utada’s stunning new artist photo. The application period ends at 23:59 on July 27, the day before the song’s release.
The bold single artwork for “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-” and Hikaru Utada’s latest artist photo, both revealed today, were captured by renowned photographer Takay, who also worked on the album artwork for their critically acclaimed 2022 album BAD MODE. The photoshoot took place in London during the early days of this summer. The outstanding white costume worn by Hikaru Utada in the photograph was designed under the supervision of Kyohei Ogawa, stylist of Utada, and meticulously crafted by Tomo Koizumi, a highly regarded Japanese designer based in Tokyo, renowned for collaborating with top-tier artists like Sam Smith. Together, they have masterfully brought to life a creation that accentuates the essence of the song’s world.
The much-anticipated upcoming single “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-” serves as the theme song for the film “KINGDOM: The Flame of Destiny.” Since its announcement in early June, the single has generated immense excitement among fans. The track is co-produced with A. G. Cook, following the success of “One Last Kiss” and “Kimini Muchuu.” Last week, on July 8, film distributor Toho unveiled another trailer featuring the first verse and chorus of the single, further immersing fans in the captivating world of KINGDOM, accompanied by Utada’s poignant track, which beautifully captures the essence of the film’s melancholy narrative.

Plot:
War orphan Shin embarks on a journey with the young king, Eisei, to unify China. Suddenly, a large enemy force led by Zhao starts to invade Qin. Eisei assigns the great general Ohki to lead the battle as commander-in-chief to solve this national crisis. Shin is named Hishintai for his squad and a reckless special mission from Ohki. While Ohki’s return to the battlefield leaves a mystery, the story reveals Eisei’s formerly unknown past. Shin’s destiny moves toward the dream he shared with his lost friend – to become a great general.
