It has recently been announced that Matsuda Genta of Travis Japan will be starring in the upcoming drama “Billion x School” with Yamada Ryosuke of Hey! Say! JUMP as the lead. The drama’s first episode will air on July 5.
“Billion x School” is a school comedy starring Yamada Ryosuke as Rei Kagami, the billionaire head of Japan’s biggest conglomerate. Kagami is also an inventor who has developed revolutionary ideas with his genius mind. He hides his identity as the CEO of a conglomerate group and becomes a teacher at the private academy where he faces various problems.
Matsuda, Ohara Azusa, Okuna So, and Kurasawa Anna have been announced as the second batch of members of Class 3-0, a group of students with “zero motivation, zero talent, and zero future potential” who Kagami is the homeroom teacher for. Matsuda Genta plays Konno Naoto, who has such low intellect that he can’t even recite his multiplication tables, but achieves his dream of joining the top ranks of the school caste system within Class 3-0 after attending a blind date with a group of friends.
Matsuda, who will be making his first regular appearance in a Fuji TV drama series commented about the lead actor Yamada saying, “Yamada Ryosuke, who is the lead actor in this drama, is the reason why I got into this industry, and he is a senior whom I have always respected. It had always been my goal to co-star with him someday, so I am really really happy.”
