On November 9, the 40th annual “Best Jeanist” award was held. As the name suggests, the competition awards celebrities who wear jeans the best. The three categories are as follows: “General Selection”, “Committee Selection,” and “Next Generation.” This year thousands of people from a wide range of ages are randomly selected through a social media survey to vote for the celebrity who they think looks best in jeans. Based on the results, a male and female winner was selected for the General Selection category. For the second year in a row actor Masaki Suda and Miyu Ikeda were revealed to be the winners again for the General Selection. Suda was unable to attend the 2022 award ceremony due to pharyngitis, and finally attended for the first time today.
Committee Selection winners include actor Yutaka Matsuhige, actress Marie Iitoyo, professional basketball player Yuki Togashi, and talent Asuka Wada. Next Generation winners were actor Somegoro Ichikawa, actress Riko, and for the first time since the establishment of the Best Jeanist awards, a virtual youtuber Kanae, received an award.
