Akina Nakamori releases ‘Best Collection Love Songs & Pop Songs’ reissue for 42nd anniversary

Akina Nakamori (58) released a new reissue of the compilation album “Best Collection ~Love Songs & Pop Songs~” on May 1st, the 42nd anniversary since her debut. Along with the album, a jazz self cover of debut song “Slow Motion” was released on YouTube. For the past few weeks, Akina has been releasing self covers to her official YouTube channel of some of her hit singles from the 80s including Blonde, Tattoo, and Gypsy Queen. 

“Best Collection ~Love Songs & Pop Songs~”, originally released in 2012, contains 35 of Akina’s signature songs, including all 28 singles released during her time under Warner Music. The reissue includes the previously unreleased cover of “HELLO MARY LOU” as a bonus track. 

Fans were also thrilled to see that Akina posted on her official X account with a message to fans. In the post she stated, “Today is the anniversary of my debut. It is thanks to the fans that I am able to celebrate my 42nd anniversary. Thank you so much! I would be happy if you could continue to watch over me.”
