Over the weekend, images of what seemed like Morning Musume. ’25 member Kitagawa Rio‘s personal social media were leaked online. On Monday, the idol confirmed it was her through her official channels, and apologized publicly for said posts.
Opening with an apology, she fully admitted to all the posts, saying that ‘there is no doubt these are my posts’. She said that the posts had been written from over two years ago, with much of those posts sent between her and a friend through social media. She went on to say that these actions were “absolutely unforgivable” and that she would be deeply reflecting on her actions.
Of the posts criticized, several were about fellow member and leader Ikuta Erina‘s perceived rudeness, criticism of both her and other members’ styling, as well as the way particular members were sold as a unit to the public.
